21-year-old American convicted of armed robbery in the U.S. has been captured by Peel police.
Daniel Szleszynski was arrested on Tuesday during a traffic stop by Peel’s Street Crime Gang Unit in the area of Tomken Rd. and Bloor St. in Mississauga.
He fled to Canada before being sentenced in Connecticut after being convicted of armed robbery with a firearm.
Police there arrested him in August in connection with a gunpoint holdup of a man taking money from a drive-thru Bank of America ATM on Memorial Day.
He had been wanted by U.S. authorities for first-degree robbery with a deadly weapon.
