PROFILE: Dawood Ibrahim, India's most wanted man - Monsters and Critics: "Dawood Ibrahim, named by German magazine der Spiegel on Saturday in connection with an alleged plot to attack the German parliament, is India's most wanted man.
Ibrahim, 55, is charged with masterminding a series of bomb blasts in India's financial hub Mumbai in 1993 which killed 257 people and wounded at least 700 others.
The bombings were allegedly carried out in revenge for the destruction of a 15th-Century mosque in northern India by Hindu fanatics in 1992.
Ibrahim, according to India's federal investigators, is now based in the Pakistani port city of Karachi from where he is believed to run a vast crime and drugs syndicate.
Pakistan has repeatedly denied that Ibrahim resides in the country."
