Tina Margaret Lloyd, was paid £15 to travel from her home in Leeds to bring some cannabis to an inmate at HMP Doncaster last year.
But when she arrived at the Marshgate jail she transferred the cannabis from her clothing to her hand where it was easily discovered during the routine search by staff, said Susan Evans, prosecuting at Doncaster Crown Court.
She told police she had been approached by a man in Leeds and offered the money to take it into the prison for one of the prisoners, who she knew.
Lloyd, who works on a Leeds market stall, admitted possessing a class C drug with intent to supply another.
The judge Recorder Jeremy Hill-Baker told her he normally locked prison drug smugglers up straightaway.
